VinFast, the fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has officially launched its first dealership in India, marking a major step in its entry into the country’s rapidly growing EV market. The new showroom, located in Piplod, Surat, Gujarat, serves as the brand’s debut presence in India and sets the stage for the upcoming launch of its electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7.

Immersive EV Experience at VinFast Surat

The Surat dealership, aptly named VinFast Surat, spans 3,000 square feet and has been designed to deliver a high-end, immersive experience for potential EV buyers. From showcasing the company’s premium electric SUVs to offering top-tier after-sales services, VinFast aims to provide a seamless ownership journey.

This facility will initially spotlight the upcoming VF 6 and VF 7, which became available for pre-booking across India starting July 15, 2025. Customers can reserve these vehicles online or at dealerships with a fully refundable booking amount of ₹21,000.

Aggressive Expansion Strategy in India

VinFast has set ambitious goals for its India operations. The company plans to establish 35 dealerships in over 27 cities by the end of 2025. In parallel, it is constructing a manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, where local assembly of vehicles will take place, aligning with the government’s Make in India initiative.

VinFast VF 6: Premium Entry-Level Electric SUV

The VinFast VF 6 is set to be the brand’s entry-level EV in India, positioned below the VF 7 but offering plenty in terms of features and performance. The compact SUV measures 4,241mm in length, 1,834mm in width, and 1,580mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,730mm—making it a direct rival to the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv.ev.

Performance & Range

The VF 6 comes in Eco and Plus variants:

  • Eco: 174 bhp, 250 Nm torque
  • Plus: 201 bhp, 310 Nm torque

Both versions are powered by a front-wheel-drive electric motor and use a 59.6 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 399 km (Eco) and 381 km (Plus) of WLTP-certified range. The VF 6 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.89 seconds.

Inside, the VF 6 boasts a minimalist yet futuristic cabin. Highlights include:

  • 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen angled toward the driver
  • Head-Up Display (HUD) replacing the traditional instrument cluster

Standard safety features on the VF 6 include:

  • Level 2 ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Blind Spot Monitoring
  • 360-degree camera, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Emergency Braking
  • Seven airbags, OTA updates, remote control via app, and smart driving modes such as Camp, Pet, Wash, and Valet

VinFast VF 7: Larger, More Powerful, and Tech-Packed

Sitting above the VF 6, the VinFast VF 7 is designed as a more premium and performance-focused electric SUV. It measures 4,545mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,635.75mm in height, with a 2,840mm wheelbase, giving it an assertive road presence.

Battery & Performance

The VF 7 is available globally in Eco and Plus trims:

  • Eco: Front motor, 201 bhp, 310 Nm, 450 km range (WLTP)
  • Plus: Dual-motor AWD, 348 bhp, 500 Nm, 431 km range (WLTP)

Acceleration is impressive—9.5 seconds for the Eco and just 5.8 seconds for the Plus variant.

Cabin and Infotainment

Both trims deliver a rich tech experience:

  • Eco: 12.9-inch touchscreen
  • Plus: Upgraded 15-inch infotainment system
